A website of moving tributes has been set up by grieving friends of rising rugby star Reuben Morgan who died while swimming in a reservoir. Parents Launch Second Protest

Parents today gathered to protest for the second time outside a city hotel used to house child sex offenders. All of the sex offenders were moved from the Metropole hotel on Newport Road after the Echo notified police, but parents of children at a nearby school said they would continue their fight to be told where sex offenders live. 'Pounds 300 Stealth Tax' for Cancer Patients

Cancer patients are being forced to pay an average of more than pounds 300 in travel and parking charges to receive hospital treatment, it was revealed today. The costs for patients in Wales is an average of pounds 318, with patients forking out for petrol, parking and bus fares during their course of treatment. Although lower than costs in other parts of the UK, the cancer charity Macmillan is calling on the Government to end the 'stealth tax' on illness.

A Not-so-Sunny Outlook for City Jobs

The South Wales branch of a national insurance company has been rocked by news of plans to axe 1,000 jobs across its group. Royal & Sun Alliance has announced plans to cut its 10,000 strong UK workforce by June 2008, as part of plans to increase efficiency. Staff at the company's branch in Trinity Court, Newport Road, Cardiff, remained tight-lipped about their worries.

Mindful of Success

A charity consisting of just 12 workers has scooped an award. Mind, in the Vale of Glamorgan, which supports people recovering from mental health problems, won the social care, welfare and religion category at the Charity Awards 2006. Daniel Phelan, award organiser, said: 'Mind in the Vale of Glamorgan is a fantastic organisation, the award is thoroughly deserved and we're delighted to congratulate them on their achievements.'
