In-Form Cochrane Serves Up a Winning Treat ; Wheelchair Tennis
SOUTH Wales wheelchair tennis ace Phil Cochrane has won the Junior boys event in the British Open Championships in Nottingham. Cochrane, from Cwmbran, a member of Cardiff Wheelchair Tennis Club, has a world junior ranking of four and was seeded two for the event.
Wales Enjoy a Taste of Home Countries Gold ; Rowing
LLANDAFF scullers Zac Lee-Green and Jasper Warner and Cardiff University's women's four helped Wales to a best ever "away-day" in the 43-year-old Home Countries Regatta at Nottingham as they grabbed two wins in a six-title haul. Wales' Under-18 quadruple scull held on to beat Scotland by two- thirds of a length in a blanket finish, while the students' Under- 23 four were one-length winners from England.

AFC COED-Y-GORES took another step towards the Cardiff six-a- side Sunday Leisure Leagues Premier Division title as Colin Harvey helped them win through 5-3 in a thrilling affair with Dukla Ponty. Dyslexic CF cruised through 5-1 against DJL thanks to the form of Lee Palfrey, and Luke Bowen ensured FC Falcons claimed a 3-0 success over FC Ely.
Welsh Get Chance for Liga Magic ; Football
SPANISH giants Valencia are bringing the magic of La Liga to Welsh schoolchildren this summer. Valencia are sending their top youth coach plus 12 of his staff to South Wales where they will link up with Cardiff City's Academy coaches to hold a five-day training camp for 150 footballers aged between eight and 16 . The scheme is all part of a new partnership between the two clubs.

A NINE-YEAR-OLD girl from Caerphilly has become one of the latest patients to be treated in hospital for swine flu. Her admission - one of three more in Wales - comes as doctors and nurses spoke of their fears that the NHS will not be able to cope with an influx of swine flu cases this winter.
Summer Operation Sees Increase in Drink-Drivers ; Police Net More Law Breakers
POLICE say drink-driving remains a problem in South Wales after record numbers of motorists were breathalysed during a summer crackdown. Just under 25,000 drivers were tested during June across the South Wales and Gwent Police force areas, with more than 400 testing positive.
