Summary
Having recently broken my ankle and become temporarily wheelchair- bound, I have begun to appreciate the problems that disabled people face every day of their lives. On a recent trip to the NCP car park in Westgate Street, Cardiff, I discovered that the lifts only serviced odd-numbered floors, and stairs provided the access to even floors, so I had to be wheeled down the vehicle ramp!
In addition to this, the lifts have large rubber ramps outside the doors which are almost impossible to move wheelchairs over - I had to get out of the chair and stand on one leg so the chair could be pushed out of the lift, obviously not an option for many disabled people.See the full content of this document
