TEACHER Peter Baker gradually started to notice that all was not well with his wife Joyce. She just didn't seem to be her normal self and was becoming very forgetful.

Joyce was in her late 40s and had been forced to give up her teaching career after a series of major operations which left her unable to cope in a busy classroom. But with her husband wrapped up in his duties as a deputy headmaster, often working late into the evenings, Joyce was regularly left alone for hours on end and when Peter got home he became increasingly worried about Joyce's condition.
