THERE were plenty of dry nets at the end of the Hereford Open on the River Wye at Belmont, but winner Alfie Hand, from Worcester, put a respectable 48lb 12oz of chub on the scales from peg 94 right alongside Greyfriars Bridge in the centre of Hereford.
This was definitely the hot spot, because on the next peg upstream was Ebbw Vale angler Andrew Murphy who followed the winner's example and float-fished first with bread as bait and then with maggots to take second place with 40lb 2oz of chub.See the full content of this document
