A NEW strain of superbug which could signal the downfall of antibiotics has been identified by a professor at Cardiff University.
Research by Professor Timothy Walsh revealed 37 people had been infected with NDM-1-positive bacteria in the UK. The NDM-1 gene, which has the potential to spread easily from one strain of bacteria to another, makes a bug resistant to a large variety of powerful antibiotics.See the full content of this document
