DAVID GILLAM is a man on a mission. He wants to educate you about the joys of world cinema. In just 15 minutes in his company, the director of the Wales One World (WOW) Festival talks with such passion that as our conversation comes to an end I want to run out to my local multiplex and shout 'bin this Hollywood rubbish and show me something with subtitles NOW!' World cinema has grown in prominence in recent years. The WOW Festival which begins at Chapter Arts Centre this Friday, has played a small part in this cultural renaissance.

"The festival has been going for nine years," David says. "It was set up to show things you wouldn't be able to see usually, like films from Latin America, the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
