Summary
A record number of UK beaches are being recommended for awards for their good sea bathing water quality. More than 800 beaches in the UK were monitored by the local authorities between May and September in 2003 (June to mid September in Scotland) on behalf of the Marine Conservation Society.
Wales saw a slight decline with 51 per cent (97) of beaches recommended, compared to 54 per cent (101) in 2003.See the full content of this document
