CARDIFF City defender Roger Johnson's proposed move to newly promoted Premiership outfit Birmingham City has moved a step closer, with the Midlands club ready to stump up an immediate pounds 2m.

Johnson will cost the Blues pounds 5m in all, but the sticking point in any sale had been the amount of funds that would be paid to the Bluebirds straight away.
