A RECORD-BREAKING 100 hardy souls took part in the NewYear'sDay Swim at Barry Island - the largest number in the event's 25-year history.

The annual event, organised by Jacksons Bay Surf Lifesaving Club, saw children, pensioners and those in between meet at Boofys Cafe on the promenade, before they all ran downthe beach for a dip in the sea ofWhitmore Bay.
