E.Coli: Parents' Dinner Boycott

Parents at the centre of an e-coli outbreak today said they would take their children to school but stop them from having school dinners. Those arriving at Penygraig Infants, in Pontypridd, this morning said they were happy everything was being done to track the source of the poisoning but that they were not prepared to take any risks. E.COLI GERM: WAS IT IN SCHOOL DINNERS?: The number of children with suspected cases of e-coli poisoning soared today. The total number of people believed to have been affected by the bug in Rhondda Cynon Taf and Merthyr Tydfil stood at 31, with the number expected to change throughout the day.

But in a statement, Merthyr Tydfil council said only seven of those had been confirmed as e-coli poisoning.
