Council Denies Charges Over Adam's Death

Summary


A council has denied three charges following the death of a cerebral palsy sufferer in its care. Rhondda Cynon Taf council formally pleaded not guilty to a trio of offences under the Health and Safety at Work Act arising from the death of 23-year-old Adam Morris more than four years ago.

Adam, who was confined to a wheelchair and was severely disabled since birth, died five days after being found with his head trapped between a headboard and mattress at the council-run Clwyd Wen respite care home in Miskin in April 2003.
