Summary
The number of police officers has doubled in Cardiff city centre but you may not have seen them all. As well as uniformed officers, plain clothed officers are also mingling with shoppers in the run- up to Christmas. The operation, dubbed Operation Dancer, will tackle shoplifting, and other complaints such as cyclists on Queen Street and beggars. A closer eye is also being kept on car parks.
Chief Inspector Jay Dave from Cardiff Central said the operation, which runs into January, is expensive but necessary over the Christmas period when the potential for crime increases.See the full content of this document
