1977 Dai the Dare, a Baby for Brucie, and Much More Made the News 32 Years Ago This Week

David, of Clovis Crescent, Newton - who is known locally as Dai the Dare - wears a caliper on his completely paralysed right leg and is 40% paralysed in the left.

He has been defying doctors' predictions from the day he was born. Despite their warnings, David learned to walk, ride a bike, surf and do all the things that a normal youngster would do.
