THE gap in school performance between children in deprived and wealthy areas grows as they get older, figures have shown.
Statistics obtained by the Echo as part of our series on inequalities in Cardiff shows how the gulf in performance grows rapidly between the ages of 11 at key stage 2 and 16 at key stage 4. Iwan Guy, of the National Association of Headteachers Cymru, said evidence clearly showed "a strong correlation between social deprivation and education performance".See the full content of this document
