Critics of women's football usually begin with 'it's nothing like the men's game.' The skill and intensity isn't there, they say, and while that may come in time there's one aspect that has already filtered through. In the World Cup qualifier at Ninian Park yesterday, the Israeli women produced a display of play-acting and time-wasting that their male counterparts couldn't have bettered. The fairer sex indeed! At one point, it seemed as if Cardiff City would run out of stretchers and there were so many players lying injured that it looked like a beach in Eilat.
