Summary
A fisherman has been taken to court for illegally fishing and mutilating lobsters. Abraham Jordan Prescott, 49, was caught with whole and mutilated lobsters in Porthcawl Harbour after a day fishing at sea. Without a permit, nobody is allowed to catch more than one lobster. But a court heard that Prescott had caught eight on June 21 as well as a bundle of crab claws - which it is illegal to fish for.
Defending himself, Prescott, of Pen y Fford, North Cornelly, said he now had the correct permit which was just a case of ticking a different box and he did not know fishing for crab claws was an offence.See the full content of this document
