Cardiff businessman Raymond Burns was a stalwart of Welsh golfing circles. The former professional footballer, who was contracted to Wolverhampton Wanderers before World War II, settled in Wales after fighting ended.

He had met his future wife Margaret, who died last year aged 84, while serving as a physical training instructor at an army barracks in Worcester.
