WELL, since we're looking forward to next year's Olympics and that gold for Dai Greene, let's be different. Let's look back instead. Back to an Olympics when we pinned Welsh hopes on another competitor - who did the business and brought Britain its only gold medal.

A letter to the Echo late in 1951 summed up the feeling in Wales: "Let's hope that Col Harry Llewellyn crowns a great jumping career by leading his team to victory at the Olympics next August."
