CRUEL pet owners are blackmailing charity staff by threatening to kill their unwanted dogs if they are not taken into a shelter. Dogs Trust - whose motto is 'A dog is for life, not just for Christmas' - said today they have had an 'upsetting upsurge' in people wanting to get rid of their animals BEFORE the festive season.
