Children on a hospital ward had their wishes come true thanks to a group of friends. Hilary Johnston, Heather Coates, Glenys Thomas, Audrey Cody and Gloria Powell, or the Golden Girls as they call themselves, asked the youngsters what presents they would like.
The friends then set about raising the money to buy the gifts for the children on the transitional ward at the Children's Hospital for Wales, Cardiff, by holding fundraising events such as a 60s night, quiz night and a poets and pints night.See the full content of this document
