A wind farm is to be built on a mass grave. Former coastguard John David says the controversial scheme to put 30 huge turbines off the coast of Porthcawl on Scarweather Sands should now be scrapped. He says scores of seamen have lost their lives on the sands and if the sailors had died on naval ships the site would have been designated as a war grave and out of bounds to developers.: A GRAVES MISTAKE!:A former coastguard and historian believes a planned wind farm may encroach on the graves of hundreds of sailors. United Utilities has been given permission to build 30, 400ft turbines on the Scarweather Sands sandbank in the Bristol Channel off Porthcawl.

But John David, 74, who was a part-time coastguard for 42 years and a member of a RNLI crew, has called on them to scrap the pounds 120m scheme as dozens of cargo ships have been lost on the sandbank.
