Yob-plagued traders in a city suburb have won a two-year battle for a CCTV camera. Merthyr Road, Whitchurch, is now overlooked by a pounds 40,000 camera linked to the city network. It will be monitored along with the other 300 city cameras by officers at Cardiff central police station.

Traders, who have repeatedly threatened to stop spending money on Christmas lights and all-year-round flowers, were delighted.
