Summary
The first match at Cardiff City's proposed new stadium could be played before a reduced crowd of only 18,000, the Echo can reveal. The club could make use of the lower tier of the Leckwith ground while building work is completed on the 30,000-seater complex.
It would see the club following the Millennium Stadium's lead, when its inaugural fixture against South Africa was played in front of a reduced- capacity crowd of 27,000 in June 1999.
