Summary
A pounds 200 donation by Bristol angler Brian Hodder in memory of his fishing friend Tony Smith boosted the amount raised for the Cardiff children's cancer hospital to pounds 1030 at the 48-hour Charity Carp Match at White Springs.
The winning catch was three carp totalling 38lb 11oz caught by Steven Davies, while the prize for the biggest fish went to Mike Robb, who banked a carp of 14lb 3oz; but there was further excitement.
