Peter Ridsdale today revealed just how close Cardiff City came to extinction. Ridsdale, who will officially take over as chairman and chief executive on Monday, arrived at Ninian Park in April 2005. And in the second part of an exclusive interview today, he reveals the Bluebirds were close to going under when he arrived. He says:

City were kept alive by a pounds 500,000 windfall from clauses in the transfers of Robert Earnshaw and Graham Kavanagh.
