Cefn Hengoed warrior Keith Jones went down gallantly, as ever, in his bid to add a British Masters welterweight title to the lightweight belt he never lost in the ring.

Facing unbeaten Croydon prospect Chas Symonds at the York Hall, Bethnal Green, Jones, in his 103rd fight, took a couple of rounds off the hot favourite, but lost a 98-94 verdict after 10 rounds.
