Labour am Peter Law is to stand against the official Labour Party candidate at next month's expected general election, throwing the running of the National Assembly into uncertainty.

Mr Law, who is being expelled from the party, will stand as an independent in Blaenau Gwent in protest against Labour's decision to choose a candidate from an all-woman shortlist.
