Summary
I WOULD agree with Nick Taylor (Viewpoints, April 26) that there could have been many budding Cardiff football stars in the 1950s who passed the 11-plus and were then lost to the round ball game because of their grammar school's policy of rugby only.
However, it could be equally argued that football's loss could be viewed as rugby's gain for how many budding footballers became rugby stars like Billy Raybould who moved from Gladstone Junior School to Cathays High School and later played for Cardiff, London Welsh and Newport?See the full content of this document
