YOUNG rowing star Matthew Hnatiw took gold and bronze for the second year running at the British Indoor Rowing Championships - despite suffering an horrendous leg break in a football match that saw him on crutches until August.

The Bluebirds season-ticket holder, who is the son of Wales rowing team manager Mike Hnatiw, was wondering whether he would ever play sport again when he suffered the injury stretching for the ball in an AFC Rumney v Trowbridge junior derby last April.
