THE Saturday Open at Redhill Fishery turned into a South Wales benefit as Tredegar angler Sean McCarthy won with 147lb 12oz of carp; Rhymney's Simon Jones came second with 139lb 8oz and Giles Cochrane, from Cwmbran, third with 125lb 8oz.

Spencer Works AC also had a match at the fishery on Saturday with members pegged on Molly's Pond and won by Alan Davies, from Trealaw, with 138lb 5oz of carp.
