Summary
I was outraged by the proposed use of public money to stop an approved commercial development on a site adjacent to the new assembly building. This is a blatant misuse of public money because public bodies are expressly precluded from bidding against a commercial developer.
They may acquire a site by compulsory purchase, and pay the market value of a plot, but they are not allowed to exceed this value which, I suggest, is the only way they can prevent the development proceedings, as planned.See the full content of this document
