Cardiff Bay is set to be the venue for a road race the organisers hope could grow to rival the most popular running event in the world. The Welsh Assembly Government has invested pounds 100,000 to bring the BUPA Great Wales Run to the city. Sports Minister Alan Pugh said he hoped the race would grow to become as big as its big brother, Newcastle's BUPA Great North Run.
