S a nation known for needing little excuse for a party, the Irish have devoted a public holiday to their patron saint, St Patrick, who was actually rumoured to have been born in Neath.

The celebrations take 18 months to organise and include a carnival, walking parade and fireworks as well as music and theatre from up to 4,000 performers.
