HAVING started the tree planting project in Thompson's Park (Letters, November 22) with members of Cardiff Parks Department in the pouring rain, we finished planting the rest of our 420 Woodland Trust donated saplings on a sunny day last week in two local schools.

We in the Pontcanna and Canton WI had been successful in our bid because we had adopted an intergenerational community approach.
