Pope Back to Save Devils' Season

Summary

Brent Pope is back with the Echo Cardiff Devils. The former Devils' defenceman is back on the team as bench coach. Canadian Pope will work alongside player/coach Gerad Adams, starting at Newcastle Vipers on Saturday. The arrival of Pope, 33, is a second off-ice signing for the Echo Devils, who have re-appointed Tony Day as kit manager. 'It's good to have both guys with us,' said Adams. 'Now we have to get things right on the ice. 'I have threatened to make changes to the team and I will stand by that if there are no improvements. There are players who have lost the passion for hockey and they had better regain that quickly.

'I don't want to make changes because we have a team who can win Elite League matches, but I won't hesitate if it becomes necessary.
