A multi-million-pound scheme to build a new library in the centre of Barry has been boosted by a report from the National Assembly. Work on the new library at King Square is due to be completed this summer. A report on library and information services by the assembly says the library service in the Vale is already one of the higher achievers in Wales.
The performance of Welsh libraries is measured by the Public Library Standards Framework, whose latest report showed the Vale of Glamorgan Council's library service had progressed from achieving just six out of 23 standards in 2002-03 to 19 up to March last year.See the full content of this document
