Condoleezza Rice, America's National Security Adviser, has assured Iraq that America will stick it out when the going gets tough as they did in Europe in World War II. What rot! By June 1944 Germany had suffered so many catastrophic defeats in the east culminating in the battle of Kursk that they had as much chance of winning the war as a politician has of passing a polygraph test.
