THE celebratory scenes across South Wales on the day of the marriage between the Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer have been re-created in a one-off TV drama.
The feature-length programme, called Royal Wedding, tells the story of a Welsh family's experiences throughout the day of the service, June 29, 1981, at St Paul's Cathedral. Shot on location in Blaengarw, near Bridgend, writer Abi Morgan, whose previous work includes Bafta award-winning Sex Traffic, has drawn from her own experiences of the close-knit communities that threw themselves into the patriotic spirit of the day.See the full content of this document
