In his brilliant new book, being serialised by the Echo, the former Lions flanker lifts the lid on the "confusion" among the squad over the tactics employed by Gareth Jenkins and his assistant Nigel Davies.

While stressing that he has the utmost respect for Jenkins and that the flop in France was a collective failure, Williams says that the former head coach got it wrong in trying to impose a physical and confrontational style on the team, where players looked for contact rather than space.
