Summary


Anyone who thinks sport is really glamorous at the top should listen to the tale of rower Santiago Fernandez. The Argentine single sculler, who finished fourth at the 2004 Athens Olympics, was forced to sleep in a burnt-out streetcar at the World Cup in Austria after his national federation forgot to book him a hotel room.

It was only when some rowers from El Salvador took pity on him that he was able to find a floor to sleep on.
