Summary
Newcastle boss Graeme Souness has warned his players not to get too carried away by the ban which will keep Sporting Lisbon striker Liedson out of their Uefa Cup quarter-final second leg. Souness was happy with last night's 1-0 win over the Portuguese side at St James' Park, secured by Alan Shearer's goal, saying: 'In Europe, if you get an advantage, keep a clean sheet, it has not been the worst night's work.' While Newcastle will be without full-back Aaron Hughes because of his third yellow card in this season's competition for next week's return leg, the Portuguese side will also be without their 23-goal striker for the same reason.
Souness was shedding no tears over Liedson's absence, but he knows that opposite number Jose Peseiro has other weapons in his armoury.See the full content of this document
