CHRIS Sutcliffe's letter (Viewpoints, January 14) , remembering events at Sophia Gardens Pavilion, reminded me of two highlights among many occasions when I went there in the 1960s.
Jack Kramer's tennis circus came on tour. The players were some of the greatest ever, who'd turned professional while Wimbledon and other tournaments were still amateur, from which they were therefore banned.See the full content of this document
