COUNCILLOR Ron Page's letter (August 20) about Cathays makes some interesting points, but is not quite accurate in my opinion. Born in Grangetown, moving to Ely Racecourse and Canton before arriving in Cathays more than 45 years ago, I don't think anybody would ever call Cathays "posh".
When we moved to Cathays there were two cars in our street - neither were mine, I had a bicycle. Don't get me wrong, both my wife and I love Cathays and it is still relatively quiet. With respect to the students who make up 85% of the population of Cathays during the academic year, around nine in ten are no problem and some go a long way to help the rest of us 15% who live here all year round.See the full content of this document
