Not even a triple bogey on his card could dent the march to victory of Sam Torrance as he won his third European Seniors Tour title. Playing over the Nicklaus course at Carden Park, Cheshire, the former Ryder Cup captain outplayed a strong field with a final two-under par 70 for an aggregate of 271, four ahead of David Russell, and picked up the De Vere PGA Seniors Championship trophy.
