AS COUNCILLORS for Rumney, there are several reasons why we are opposed at the council's plans to build on Rumney Recreation Ground.
The main reason we have is traffic congestion. Even now the volume of traffic at peak times is horrendous. It is congested driving from British Legion Drive onto Llanrumney Avenue, then trying to exit on to Newport Road, this already being full to capacity with traffic tailbacks which can go back beyond Newport Road and into St Mellons and further, eventually leading to a standstill. Commuters who don't live in the area use Newport Road as a short cut to access Lamby Way and the bypass.See the full content of this document
