Summary
It was a good year for the made-in-Wales alternative to A-levels - the Welsh Baccalaureate. A total of 73 per cent of candidates from 16 schools and 12 colleges were awarded the Advanced Diploma, which is the equivalent of an A grade at A-level. For the third year running, students from St Cyres Comprehensive in Penarth are raising the profile of the qualification with 92 of the 103 students awarded the Advanced Diploma.
