Summary
As parents of two daughters we would like issues of abortion to be taught in school, according to the guidelines laid down by the assembly. There is a great need for young people to be presented with all the facts (and misconceptions). In the safe school atmosphere, with a teacher's input, young people can consider the physical realities, moral implications and emotional consequences. Young people can be taught to appreciate the validity of opposing views and important communication skills can be developed to enable discussion with parents and health professionals.
If young people talk only to their peers about the issues, their lack of experience will lead them to inappropriate conclusions.See the full content of this document
